Device

But my dear,
you once wrote poems,
read books after books and never got tired.
Painted, sung, danced and played,
and laughed with people you cared!

This device you now stare into
was supposed to make all that easy,
bring the world to your palms,
make friendships cozy!

But my dear,
what have you done!
Peek into other's house of silence
and stare until your time is gone!

Cornered memories

It was once my favourite book,
Read a million times.
Now rests on that ignored corner table,
Dust settled over time, name faded,
My heart rebels to disturb it.
So are your memories!

Let the peace prevail

As the deafening buzz of gun shots roar;
shrieks the wounded soldier!
Crackles of fire at his funeral pyre,
and the rustling silence of his beloved's tear!
Chuckles of his year old kid;
burning melancholy as the farewell is bid!
In this death song of blood red sky,
let the peace prevail!

ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣಿನಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಕನಸು ಕಾಣುವ ;

He loved her

He used to stare;
He loved her smile
and the twinkle in her eyes
when she did so!

He hugged her;
appreciated her slender white body
and its grace;
called her his only angel!

He was impressed,
with her bold moves
and was proud of the
causes she stood for!

He saw his own jubilation
with her victory
and applauded!

He loved her;
yes!
and that was seven years before!

A Garland

A lotus bud
meditates in fervent devotion
to the sole love of its life.
Numerous roots spread all over lake
strengthening its love!
It stands holding its smell within;
bright colors to unfurl ;
Waiting for all its prayers to be answered!

A bunch of milk white jasmines;
group together on an evening;
A twinkle on the corner of eyes,
a smile on the curl of their lips;
they giggle and gossip
and blush at the very sight of each passerby.
Intoxicating every wind with their rich perfume!

I walk on this side of lake,
collecting flowers for your garland;
A single lotus? or a bunch of jasmine?
I collect both..
And the choice is yours :)

At the end......

Collecting the jacket
that lie on his dinner table,
I step out and wait to listen
to a thud of door closing behind me.
Strange, I hear none!
As I walk,
my sandals resound
on the empty street.
His words reverberate
through my heart,
"This is over,
This is the end!"
I have not his hand but
a distant lonely star
to guide me.
Strange again,
I'm not least frightened
of the dark now!
I rush forward,
with new found dreams,
and a new found determination.
"Peace pervades.. "
