He used to stare;
He loved her smile
and the twinkle in her eyes
when she did so!
He hugged her;
appreciated her slender white body
and its grace;
called her his only angel!
He was impressed,
with her bold moves
and was proud of the
causes she stood for!
He saw his own jubilation
with her victory
and applauded!
He loved her;
yes!
and that was seven years before!
What happened now??

By stating everything in 'past tense' I thought I was making it clear he did not love her now!

Yes, I saw that it was all in the past tense. But I believe that if you ever truly loved anyone, it will not fade away. So I thought he must have died or she made a stupid decision by dumping him. Still a very good poem :)
